The Small Stick Nest is a flexible nest designed for species that naturally inhabit small, narrow spaces. It can serve as a founding nest for medium-sized species like Camponotus species in the Myrmentoma subgenus, or even as a mature nest for Temnothorax species. Genera like Colobopsis, Crematogaster, Pseudomyrmex, and Tapinoma can also be accommodated at various sizes. Measuring 7mm in width and 6mm in height, it mimics natural nesting habitats while providing ample space for queens. Despite its small size, this nest lasts over a year for species that nest in sticks. It measures 2.5 × 1.5 × 0.7 inches and fits 3/8 inch outer diameter, 1/4 inch inner diameter tubing. The kit includes a nest, test tubes, a clip-on macro lens, steel-tipped tweezers, liquid feeders, a pipette, and Fluon. To clean, disassemble and hand wash in hot water, then let it dry and reassemble. This product is from Canada Ant Colony. Nest capacity estimates are the bare minimum, and it's recommended to add more workers. For small ants, the capacity is 9 to 1000 workers, for medium ants, it's 6 to 360 workers, and for large ants, it's 3 to 120 workers.
